Wildbird Recovery invites you to join us for our inaugural wellness event “Winged Spirits – Rooted in Nature Festival” on August 8, 2026 from noon to 4 PM at Stormy Oaks Nature Conservancy (120 Forsythe Road, Valencia, PA 16059)! The location for this event is our 14-acre property designed to protect natural resources and that has been described as helping with “inner peace” and “healing” for both wildlife and humans. We will have businesses and individuals who nurture mental, physical, and emotional health through natural healing present during the Rooted in Nature Festival. It will be a day of nature, nurture, and connection with the community.

Tickets for this event are able to be purchased (in-person) the day of the event. Please know this is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds on admission tickets or live yoga class. There is the option to purchase admission tickets for ages 10+ in advance under the section “admission tickets” below until Thursday, August 6, 2026. The admission ticket is a donation that supports Wildbird Recovery, Inc; a 501(c)(3) organization so your charitable donation is tax deductible. Also, there is the option to combine your admission ticket with the live yoga class for those age 10+ participating in the live yoga during the event.

Admission tickets
Email Melissa at mbrown@wildbirdrecovery.org with any questions on purchasing admission tickets and/or live yoga class tickets for ages 10+ for the Rooted in Nature Festival event. The tickets are non-refundable – this event will be held rain or shine. Children 9 and under do not require a ticket to attend the event.
August 6, 2026 will be the last day to purchase tickets in advance. Admission tickets and/or live yoga class tickets for ages 10+ must be purchased in-person the day of the event (August 8, 2026). We look forward to seeing you there!

BEFORE YOU GO – HELPFUL REMINDERs
There is an important navigation update when leaving our event. If you plan to make a Left turn onto State Route 228 W to connect with Route 8, please plan to make a Left out of our driveway to connect with Harbison Road. If you make a Right out of our driveway to connect to Davis Road, PennDot has put up NO LEFT TURN signage from Davis Road to State Route 228 W.
Where to park? Please plan to use our second driveway located across from 119 Forsythe Road, Valencia, PA 16059 to enter the event. This driveway will take you to our field for parking. There will be volunteers to assist with parking. Handicap and accessibility parking is available. If needed, please let our volunteers know and they will direct you on where to park.
What to wear? This event takes place on a mowed lawn surface. Please dress based on the weather forecast for the day. It is helpful for children to wear closed-toed shoes for exploring Stormy Oaks Nature Conservancy.
What to bring? You are welcome to bring chairs or a towel to sit on for this event. These items might be helpful when participating in the song circle or enjoying food/drink from the vendor trucks. Also, if participating in yoga, it is helpful to bring a yoga mat or towel. All activities will take place on a mowed lawn surface.
Methods of payment? Cash, check, credit card, and Venmo are all forms of payment accepted at the event. Cash and check do not have fees associated with payment. Also, please be mindful of the slight wait time for payments processed by credit card or Venmo. We will do our best to quickly get you checked-in to the event! For the vendors, please plan to have cash.

You are encouraged to stop by any time over the course of the Rooted in Nature Festival event!
12:00 PM – Check-in, Vendors, Food/Drink trucks are open
- Reserve your time slot with Mindful Movements Massage (15-minute or 30-minute massages) and/or Dr. Rob & Judy Fair (stress relief ear seed applications).
12:00 PM – 12:20 PM – Visit with an Animal Ambassador (Merlin) near the Medicine Wheel
12:30 PM – Mother Earth (Mama Gaia) Healing Ceremony with Hope Shick (Journey with Hope)
1:00 PM – Yoga Class with Becky Verduzco (AngelWing Yoga & Wellness LLC)
- Participants should be age 10 & older to participate in the outside yoga class. Bring a mat and/or towel along with yoga blocks, if any.
1:45 PM – 2:15 PM – Visit with an Animal Ambassador (Barn Owl) in the classroom
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM – Song circle with Kevin May (Healing is Cool)
3:45 PM – Visit with an Animal Ambassador (Red-tailed Hawk) near the woodshed
4:00 PM – Mindful gratitude before leaving Stormy Oaks Nature Conservancy
Please note that Face Painting with Marley Shick will take place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Education Ambassadors (birds) will be out visiting throughout the event. Please be respectful of our education ambassadors who will be mingling for the duration of the event! Respect should always be shown when viewing from their home (i.e., no climbing on fences or making sounds).
The Nature Trail will be available starting at 1:00 PM for a relaxing walk. The start of the Nature Trail is by the woodshed (where you check-in for the event after parking). Also, your children are encouraged to explore our replica Bald Eagle nest in our Octagon play area (near the barn).
Be sure to tag us in your photo taken by our mural! The mural is on the exterior wall of our classroom. Samantha Ridgeway was a former senior art educator at Carlow University who graciously shared her skills to add a special touch to our classroom in 2023.
