Jacob’s Trick or Tweet

We have come to know an amazing young man, Jacob, through our Homeschool Science Classes at Stormy Oaks Nature Conservancy. You most likely interacted with him at our Fall Migration Festival as he gave you a warm welcome at the check-in table!
Please know that this will be a family friendly event and costumes are encouraged, but are not required. This event will be simplistic and fun! The nature trail, StoryWalk, and Octagon play area will be open so that families can explore during their time with us. The treats will be a mix of candy and non-candy treats.
The event will take place outside from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. There will be sensory friendly time from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
What to Wear: This event takes place on a mowed lawn surface. Please dress based on the weather forecast for the day. Plan to wear closed-toed shoes or rain boots. You will want to dress in layers. It might be helpful to bring gloves/hat.
Donation Admission: $10 per vehicle (cash, Venmo – Wildbird Recovery or check – payable to Wildbird Recovery)
Recommendation: Bring a flashlight for 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM **Flashlights must be pointed towards the ground and not towards the education ambassadors in their enclosures.** The flashlight will be helpful while on the nature trail for the StoryWalk starting around 7 PM as well as making your way back to your vehicle after the sun has set.
Restroom? There is a standard Porta-potty located beside the classroom (brown building).
Where to Park? Please plan to use our second driveway located across from 119 Forsythe Road, Valencia, PA 16059. This driveway will take you to our field for parking. There will be volunteers to assist with parking. Handicap and accessibility parking is available. If needed, please let our volunteers know and they will direct you on where to park. **There is an important navigation update when leaving our event. If you plan to make a Left turn onto State Route 228 W to connect with Route 8, please plan to make a Left out of our driveway to connect with Harbison Road. If you make a Right out of our driveway to connect to Davis Road, PennDot has put up NO LEFT TURN signage from Davis Road to State Route 228 W.**
Please kindly know that our education animal ambassadors will be in their enclosures for their safety as costumes aren’t part of our daily attire. We want to all be respectful of their space.
If you have any questions, please reach out to hello@wildbirdrecovery.org.
Planning to Attend: Please use Jacob’s Trick or Tweet – 10/18/24 Google Form to reserve a spot for the event. It’s important for us to have an accurate participant count for Jacob’s Trick or Tweet. This event may need to be limited – depending on interest received by the community.
