2012 Year in Review
Wildbird Recovery had another busy year. We admitted and treated 410 sick, injured, and orphaned wild birds with a 72% release rate (more than twice the national average). We admitted, treated, transferred and/or released 34 animals for Maryjane Angelo at Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Center. We also admitted 42 domestic birds. We admitted a total of 486 animals. Wildbird Recovery had 26 education programs. We also hosted our first large fundraiser, The First Annual Fall Migration Festival, which was well attended and enjoyed by about 150 supporters. A very special thank you to our volunteers, to Stacey Widenhofer for doing our education programs, and to our veterinarians, Dr. Daman and Dr. Revelt, and to Dr. Smolensky (our bird chiropractor).
